A Letter to My Daughters

My precious girls -

What a fun month we've had!!  We've been spending a lot of time outside because the weather has been gorgeous!!  Chilly in the mornings and evenings, and 70-75 degree temps in the afternoon.  If only it were like this year-round!

In the last month we've climbed Amicalola Falls, visited 2 pumpkin patches, gone to 4 birthday parties, decorated pumpkins, and run lots of errands to get ready for Halloween and Madeline's birthday!   Both of you are very excited to wear your costumes and go trick-or-treating next week.  I love that you are both very into the holidays now :)

Chloe, you have grown up so much in the last couple of months.  Ever since you started Kindergarten, you are becoming more independent and you are learning at light speed!!  You are recognizing your sight words and you are starting to spell.  I am so thankful you are enjoying school and hope you will always love learning as much as you do right now.  I had my first parent-teacher conference last week with your teacher, and she told me how well you listen, learn, and get along with your peers. I am so very proud of you!!

Madeline, you are turning 3 next week and I just can't believe it!!  Where has the time gone?!  You are still loving school and it amazes me how much information you retain and can relay back to me at the end of the day.  You are learning bible stories, shapes, and even spanish! You are bursting with personality and always keep us laughing!  It's been so much fun to watch you grow up and become your own little person.  You make me so happy :)

I love you both very much!  You are such blessings to me!
Love,
Mommy

Kids Were Here - October

Welcome to our blog circle called Kids Were Here.  We are a group of passionate photographers who are setting out to document details of evidence that Kids Were Here.  The following images are two little moments captured from the last couple of weeks.  I thought they were appropriate since this month is sure to be filled with pumpkins and art work (the girls' favorite activity!)

A Letter To My Daughters

My sweet girls,

It is almost October and we're just feeling the beginnings of fall, one of my favorite times of year!  This past month we've been busy with school and just enjoying this last bit of the warm, summer sun!  As sad as I am to see it go, I'm also really looking forward to the next few weeks of cool breezes, fresh apples, colorful leaves, and all things pumpkin!  We did our first "fall" event a couple of weeks ago when we took you to one of the apple orchards in north Georgia.  It is the cutest place!  We spent an afternoon picking apples, riding ponies, taking a hay ride, riding pedal cars, jumping on the jumpy pillow (almost like a jumpy house, but even better!) visiting the animals in the petting zoo, and watching the mini pig races!  In the next couple of weeks, we'll be going to the pumpkin patch to gather pumpkins - we really look forward to that each year!!

Chloe,
You are doing so well in school and you're really enjoying it now!  I've volunteered in your class a couple of days, so I've had the opportunity of watching you in action.  We have also visited you for lunch a couple of times - you always love having visitors.  You are sounding out letters, recognizing your sight words, and you are learning to read!  You are so smart, and I am constantly amazed by how quickly you pick things up!  I am one proud Mommy!!  Other than school, you have really gotten into painting.  You have always loved art, but over the last month, I don't think there's been even one day that you haven't painted with your watercolor set!

Madeline,
You are still loving your preschool class as much as you did the very first day!  Each day is new and exciting to you, and I am always in awe of how happy and joyful you are.  You are always smiling and our lives are brighter because of you!   We are still working on our potty training, and you are learning to brush your teeth by yourself!  You have always been our Miss Independent :) You are really into baby dolls and strollers right now, along with doing anything your big sister does.  The two of you love drawing together, blowing bubbles together, playing outside, and running around chasing each other!

The two of you continue to be best little buddies and I pray it always stays this way.  I am so blessed by both of you, and I am so thankful for our little family!!

Love,
Mommy
