9 months and counting!

I still can't believe Chloe is over 9 months old...almost 10!!! I'm sure before we know it, her first birthday will be here! We got some new pictures taken of her a couple of weeks ago that I wanted to share.

Here are a few fun facts about our sweet girl:

Height: 28 inches (62%)

Weight: 18 lbs 6 oz (40%)

Favorite Food: Peach Oatmeal Banana Earth's Best Baby Food

Favorite Book: Chloe LOVES books and I hope this continues as she gets older. Her very favorite one is "The ABCs of Cookies" (a Sesame Street Cookie Monster book)

Favorite Toys: Stacking rings, balls, phones, plastic slinky, Chip (the poor dog is constantly being swatted at), beads and anything that plays music, spins or is sparkly! She still loves playing in her Exersaucer, too!

Favorite Shows: "Sesame Street" ( Elmo, Grover and Cookie Monster are her favorite characters) and "Mickey Mouse Clubhouse". She also enjoys the puppets on her Baby Einstein DVDs

Words: "Ma ma", "Da da", and I swear she tries to say "Elmo" :)

Happy Valentines Day!

Valentine's Day was so much fun this year! Friday night, Mom and Dad came in town and stayed over to watch Chloe while Jeremy and I went to dinner. We had hibachi (yum!) and it was so nice having a night out together. Saturday, we went to bruch at Goldberg's and came home to give Chloe all of her little Valentine's presents. Just as with Christmas, I think she had more fun with the cards and tissue paper than anything! Well, other than her first mylar balloon! I think it was her favorite part! She would swat at it, and crack up laughing every time it flew up and came back to bop her in the face! She had us all laughing just watching her - she was so cute with it! She also got a fun toy that spins around and lights up, lots of Sesame Street books (her favorite) and a pretty silver heart necklace from her grandparents! She got a few little Valentines with candy from our neighbors and we actually let her have a taste of one of the lollipops! We let her have a few licks and took it away...it was too cute. She was holding it with a very tight grip! I'm sure she would have devoured the whole thing if we would have let her...she LOVED it! :) We had a great Valentine's Day weekend. We are so blessed to have so much love around us!

We're back :)

I'm sorry it's been so long since I've updated!!! Now that the busy holidays are over, I'm actually going to try and keep up with this blogging thing :) I love reading everyone else's posts...I hope you all enjoy ours.

So much has happened over the last two months, even aside from the holiday celebrations and family gatherings. Chloe got her first two bottom teeth (they came in together), started sitting herself up (by herself from laying down), and finally started crawling! She just turned 9 months old last week, and I seriously thought our girl may never crawl! Up until a couple weeks ago, she hasn't shown any interest in being mobile. We have her a walker and loads of other fun gadgets and toys to chase around, but she's seemed to be content sitting in one spot (or mostly being carried by her Mommy and Daddy). I guess she's just not super curious yet! Her "crawling" is quite entertaining though, as it looks like more of an army crawl right now than anything! We bribe her with toys, beads, and Mommy's necklaces to get her going. Jeremy thinks he's in for it ...the girl already has a passion for jewelry like her mother! If we keep moving the toys back or put them too far away from her, she gets discouraged and buries her face on the floor and cries. It's too cute! The video below is a small sampling of what the last week or so has looked like at the Shaia house :)

I've also posted a few recent pictures of Chloe - our sweet girl is getting big fast! Her 9 month well check-up is on Wednesday. I can't wait to see how much she's grown!
