A Letter To My Daughters

My precious girls -

Wow, what a month we've had!  August was filled with new beginnings, new schedules, kisses and hugs, meltdowns and tears, belly laughs, and lots of fun!   You both started at new schools and we've been very busy adjusting to our new routines.

Chloe, you started Kindergarten!!  I have loved watching you tackle this new adventure.  You have done so well, but you have also had a lot of anxiety about making new friends and being a "little fish in a big pond."  We ease your fears and worries by saying prayers, both at bed time and in the morning when the bus passes by our house.  My heart overflows with love and joy when I see how much you trust our God already!  I am so very proud of you.

Madeline, you started preschool just 2 weeks ago!!  You have been going with me to drop Chloe off at preschool for the past 2 years, and you have begged me to let you stay there too!  Now you are finally a little student, and you absolutely love it!  As soon as I pick you up in the afternoons, you are already talking about how much you miss being there with your teachers and friends. You always tell me about your favorite parts of the day, which are usually lunchtime, recess, and playing with playdough :)

Aside from school, we have been spending our time soaking up the last few weeks of summer!  We've been playing in the yard, and going to the pool and the splash pad a good bit.  You both love being outside, and you've both become such water bugs!!    I think the highlights of the last couple of weeks have been our trip to the sunflower field, and visits from the ice cream truck that frequents our neighborhood now!!
I can't believe that school has started, football season is kicking off this weekend, and fall is almost here!!  The next few months will be so much fun!

I love you both with all my heart!  You are such blessings to me!

Love,
Mommy

  2. Oh wow, I love all of these! I think I will bawl when my oldest starts kindergarten next year :( I am very envious of the sunflowers, our fields are too far from town and now it's too late. It's on my bucket list for next year though. Yours turned out so great, I love your compositions :)
